Pilates is an exercise technique developed over 80 years ago by Joseph Pilates. As a sickly child suffering rickets, asthma etc, Joseph Pilates was looking for a way to improve his health, He studied many movement forms including yoga gymnastics and weight training. From this he devised a way of moving, targeting the deep core muscles that stabilize the torso. Pilates stream lines the body, re balances it so we can move more efficiently and effectively. This improves posture and gives a longer, leaner stronger looking body. A body that is flexible yet strong.
